About Rose
Rose’s educational background includes:
-B.A. in Sociology from Georgetown University (cum laude ’04) with a minor in Spanish, a Health Studies concentration, and a professional writing certificate
-USA Track and Field Level-1 Coach certification
-Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification through the National Sport and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS)
-C.H.E.K. Holistic Lifestyle Coach certification
As a personal trainer, Rose discusses nutrition, hydration, sleep, and daily stressors as part of a holistic approach to health and fitness. Her personal training clients have lost 30, 55, even 85 pounds of fat, and they’ve gained noticeable muscle tone in the process. When it comes to coaching, Rose’s philosophy involves working hard and balancing the hard work with adequate recovery in order to reach potential fitness without getting injured. She encourages people to listen to their body, take a day off when they need to, and take care of all the little things that will allow them to be their best (e.g. stretch, sleep plenty, hydrate properly, eat consistently healthy, balanced meals).
From helping a walker finish their first 5k to watching a marathoner qualify for Boston for the first time, Rose finds fulfillment in being a part of people achieving their dreams, no matter what they are.
A highly competitive runner herself, Rose practices what she preaches. Sponsored by Brooks and Club Northwest, she wins many local races such as the St.Patrick’s Day Dash and the Fremont 5k. Dabbling in sprint triathlons and 200 mile bike rides left her to see that running is her true passion. She recently stepped up her training in order to achieve her goal of being one of the top runners in the nation. She loves to train, she loves to race, and she loves to inspire people along the way!

Hi Rose, I currently reside in Ballard and have been the Queen of Excuses for the past year regarding my health and fitness. I started a desk job in April 2011 and weighed about 120 pounds at that point. I now weigh about 133 pounds, which has made me feel quite insecure, considering I am only about 5’3″ tall and believe I’ve gotten chubby. I am interested in finding an affordable personal trainer to work with about 2-3 times per week, to shed around ten pounds and generally tone up my muscles & improve my eating/workout habits. Any information you can give me about what you think of my situation would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!
